Types of Dental Implants

There are multiple types of dental implants, such as:

Single Tooth Implant: For a single tooth implant, the adjacent teeth are grounded into peg shapes so that there is a support system for the bridge. This may cause damage to your enamel and tooth structure but is necessary for the implant.

Multiple Teeth Implant: If you are missing multiple teeth, then you need multiple teeth implants. The implants will fit onto the teeth, while putting pressure on the gums. You still need to be aware of problems involving decay, root canals, bone loss, and bone atrophy. However, the dental implants should stop bone deterioration.

Mini Dental Implants: Mini dental implants are another option for patients who want to replace missing teeth, but do not want regular restorations. You may not have the bone mass in your jaws for proper surgery. Mini dental implants come with a titanium post with a ball on the end or a socket that attaches a tooth to the post. Mini implants are seen as perfect for loose dentures.
